  A: A Downtown Portal is an item that will be placed on your map or in your inventory. This allows you to travel to your Downtown.

  

• Q: What is a Downtown?
  A: Downtown is a whole new area we’ve designed for you to play! This is a 10 Expansion by 10 Expansion area. Once you unlock the Downtown portal you will be able to visit and build there!

  

  

• Q: What are the benefits to having a portal in my City?
  A: You can go back and forth from your City to Downtown, which is the new hottest thing in CityVille! When you grow your downtown your portal will give a bigger bonus to your main City!
• Q: What are the prerequisites for this feature?
  A: This feature is available to players level 20+ and pay the unlock price. Note: This is gradually rolling out to more players.
• Q: How can I unlock downtown for early access?
  A: If you want to be the first to see downtown you will click on your Downtown Portal to buy the Downtown Unlock. By unlocking, this will also give you an exclusive premium business for your city the Roof Top.
• Q: Can I have multiple Downtown Portals?
  A: No. We will only give you one Downtown Portal to place in your City. This portal can also be stored in your Inventory.
• Q: What happens if I try to remove my Downtown Portal? Can I place the Portal in my Inventory?
  A: Yes, this item will be sent to your inventory if you try to remove it. You will still be able to travel from your regular City to your Downtown without a portal on your gameboard.

  

• Q: What is the exact size of the Downtown Portal in my City?
  A: This item has a footprint of 24 x 12. We have given most players who have not yet fully expanded 2 Free Expansions to place this item.
• Q: When will Downtown access roll out to all players?
  A: Soon!
• Q: What items will carry over that I can place in Downtown?
  A: The majority of your Inventory items will carry over, XP, Energy, Population, City Cash and Coins. However, there are some exclusions that will not be able to be placed in your Downtown such as water decoration, your Downtown portal, Eternal fountain, Turbo Statue, Piers, Warehouses, Seasons, Citizen Clothing, Rent Collector, Bridge, Wind Farms, Islands, Power Dam, etc.

  

• Q: Do I use my energy for both areas: regular city and downtown?
  A: Yes. We are currently working on new ways to help you gain more energy!
• Q: Do items in your Downtown count for your original city quests? Or Vice Versa?
  A: Yes they should!

  Q: Can Downtown Specific Items go in my Original City too?

• A: Yes. However, please note that items that give Downtown Value only give Downtown Value when they are placed in your Downtown.

  

• Q: What is Downtown Value?
  A: Downtown Value is a new statistic in your Downtown, it is very similar to population statistic in your original City Board. All buildings will either have a downtown value or a downtown value maximum capacity.

  

  Note: Buildings with the Keywords “Arts and Leisure” will have better downtown allowance compared to other buildings.

• Q: How will the new buildings and old buildings work on the Main and Downtown board?
  A: Here is a quick breakdown…

  Downtown Board

  Residences – continue to give Population and Rent
  Regular Businesses – supply with goods and earns coins
  New Premium Businesses – supply with premium goods, earns coins, gives Downtown Value upon placement and potentially increases Downtown Value upon harvest.

• A: You will need permits and a required amount of Downtown Value.

  

  

• Q: How do I go back and forth from my original City and Downtown?
  A: When you are in your original City you will have your Downtown Portal Item you will click on the following icon at the bottom of your screen.

  

  

  You can get to your original City from Downtown through clicking the following icon.

  

• Q: How do I earn Premium Goods?
  A: The original factory, the Cove Island Factory and the Trucking Depot all create premium goods. You can also purchase more Premium goods through the Downtown Build Menu. To learn more about Truck Depot visit the Official Guide.

  

• Q: How do I store premium goods?
  A: There will be both coin and City Cash premium good storage items available in the Build Menu.

  
  Q: My regular businesses are taking my Premium Goods first and I need them to supply my Premium Businesses! What should I do?

• A: Make sure to supply your Premium Businesses first during your gameplay. We’re currently investigating this flow and looking into adjusting.

  

• Q: How can I find items/buildings for Downtown?
  A: When you visit Downtown click the “Build Button”. Then go to the Downtown Tab to search for these new Downtown Items.

  

• Q: Will there be quests to complete in Downtown too?
  A: Yes!

  

• Q: Will certain quest tasks count towards my Downtown Quests and my regular City Quests?
  A: Yes, they should!
• Q: Now that there is Downtown, should we expect there to me less in regular City?
  A: No! We plan to release new features, quests and content for both areas that you play in!
• Q: What are these already placed items in my Downtown?
  A: We’ve started building many items in your Downtown. You will need to expand to these areas to continue building and complete them.

  A: This feature is available to players level 10+.

  A: The rainbow is a decoration that has a bonus of 36% when completed.

• Q: Where can I find a Rainbow?
  A: If you are level 10+ you will receive the Rainbow Quest and be able to place the rainbow from there. Note: You can only have 1 Rainbow, you can not purchase more rainbows.

• Q: What is the size of the Rainbow?
  A: The Rainbow when placed has a 12 x 1 footprint.

• Q:How do I fully build my rainbow?
  A: You will need to upgrade your Rainbow to complete it. Visit the Step by Step Guide to Upgrading your Rainbow which can be found below.

• Q: How many levels does the Rainbow have to upgrade?
  A: The Rainbow has 6 levels you need to complete.

• Q: Will I receive a pop up when I reach Level 6 and receive my 1 Million Coins?
  A: No, you will not receive a pop up. You will receive diamond doobers that will equal 1 Million Coins.

• Q: Do I need any materials to build Rainbow?
  A: No, to start using Rainbow it just needs to be placed in your city. Upgrading it, however will have more requirements.

• Q: How can I upgrade and grow my Rainbow
  A: You can upgrade it one level at a time; each level will have a different amount of shamrocks requirements.

• Q: Where can I get more Shamrocks?
  A:When you click on the Rainbow upgrade Menu you can ask your friends through a Wall Feed for more Shamrocks or you can purchase Shamrocks. You will also receive the chance in getting shamrocks from building and collecting from most recent St Patrick’s Day Content. Also, don’t forget to ask your friends to send you a Mystery Shamrock from the Free Gift Page too!
  Note: When you reach the next level your Shamrock inventory will be reset again each level

• Q: Can I choose which Shamrock that I want to ask for?
  A: When you ask your friends for Shamrocks through the Wall Feed it is random. Also when you receive a Mystery Shamrock they are random and a surprise as well.

• Q: What will happen if I delete this Rainbow from my city?
  A: This item will be placed again in your inventory. Note: If you have a Full Rainbow it will remain a full rainbow if you place again.

Step by Step Guide to Building

1. Once you have reached level 10 you will will see the following quest icon and receive the quest to build your Rainbow.

   Note: You will only get progress for this quest when building the most current St Patrick’s Day Content.

   

2. Clicking on the “Place” button will allow you to place then start building your Rainbow Decoration.
   

Step by Step Guide to Upgrading

1. As soon as you have placed your Rainbow you will notice the familiar upgrade arrow: click on it to start the upgrade.
   
2. You will need a few parts to upgrade to level 2. You can get these by sending requests to your friends and posting requests to your feed, as well as by purchasing them with City Cash. Once you have gathered all the parts, just click on “Finish Building” to complete the upgrade.Note: Each time you upgrade you will be required to collect a different amount and kind of Shamrock. You can also receive shamrocks from building and collecting new St Patrick’s Content.
3. Each time you upgrade you will receive many coin! Make sure to sweep up these doobers up and get them into coin total as soon as possible!
4. Once you have gathered all the parts required, click on “Finish Building”  to finish upgrading your Rainbow to Level 6. You can place your completed Rainbow near your houses and businesses to increase your payouts!

Last night at approximately 9 pm PT, we experienced an outage in CityVille that lasted through the evening. The game is up again and fully running now, but unfortunately some recent player actions cannot be restored.

We apologize for the recent downtime that you recently encountered and the issues with your recent actions. Unfortunately, this will result in some inconsistencies since your last play session.Please visit your City as we have credited you some rewards for the inconvenience. At this time we encourage you to start re-building. Please keep in mind the compensations awarded will make this process easier. Stay tuned for more helpful rewards to come.

If you  recently purchased City Cash we are working to credit those accounts back at this time.

Once again, we apologize for these inconveniences. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue to help avoid this occurring again in the future.

Bring Island Tourists to Your City with the Ferry Marina and Aloha Island

Tired of looking at all of the empty water space in your City?  Build the Ferry Marina and Aloha Island and Bring Island Tourists to your City!

Benefits:

• The Ferry Marina and Aloha Islands offer you Businesses, Residences and a Community Building in one unit.
• You will be able to use your water land.
• Ferries will bring more tourists to your city.
• Your population will grow from the houseboats in the marina and the marina will increase your population allowance.

FAQ:

Q: Why don’t I have the Ferry Marina or Aloha Island in my City?
A: This feature is still gradually rolling out.

Q: When can I build the Ferry Marina and Aloha Island?
A: Players that have reached level 47 will be offered the Ferry Marina and Aloha Island quests.

Guide to Ferry Marina:

1. You will find the Ferry Marina in the build menu. Your quest “Show Me” button will take you to the build menu.

2. Purchase and place your Ferry Marina along the coast. This is similar to placing piers and ports.

3. Once placed, click marina to open. Request help from neighbors to collect materials needed to complete building. You may purchase materials if you wish to by-pass getting help from your neighbors.

Guide to Aloha Island

1. Select “Place” on quest menu to place your Aloha Island.
(Note: Islands must be placed on a full water expansion space)

2. Once placed, select Aloha Island to open and request help from neighbors to collect materials needed to complete building your Island.

Welcome the World to your City with Airports!

The cargo terminal is the first terminal of the CityVille’s airports.  After you collect all of the buildable materials and build your terminal, you get to pick your Cargo Plane! Each plane holds a different amount of goods so choose the one that works best for your City.  Then send that Cargo planes off to Paris, Barcelona, Shanghai, Tokyo, and London for a different amount of goods per location.

Every time you send a plane to a destination to receive goods, you receive a Mastery point for that route and the best part is each Mastery Level earns you more goods and better payouts! Once you’ve mastered each route to Level 3, you will get a souvenir that is special landmark to that City.  How great will a London Ferris Wheel look in your City?  What about the Minato Tower from Tokyo?  The more Cargo routes you master, the more souvenirs you will receive for your City!

You’ve probably noticed that your airport is still under construction.  The Passenger and Private Jet terminals are coming soon, but we’ve also got an additional terminal in store for you, that is still top secret, so check back soon to see what surprises we have in store for your City!

  A: You can find them walking along the road (and sidewalks) in your city.

  A: You can see up to 3 citizens who need help.
• Q: Can I help more than one citizen at a time?
  A: Yes you can.
• Q: What will happen if I reject a request to help?
  A: The citizen will leave, but you will see them again and will be able to accept the task the next time you load your city.
• Q: Can I cancel a task after accepting it?
  A: Yes you can; much like with rejecting before you accept it, you will have to opportunity to continue the task the next time you load your city.

Step By Step Guide

1. These special citizens can be identified by their distinct appearance and the icon above them.

2. Click on one of the citizens with a question mark to learn what they need.

3. You can chose to accept or reject the task. If you reject it the citizen will leave, but you will have the opportunity to help them the next time you load your city.

4. When you click to accept the task your citizen the icon above them will change to an exclamation mark; click on them again to learn what they need. You can click on the citizen at   any time to check on the progress.

5. Once you have completed a task for any of the citizens you will see the icon above them change to a check mark; click on them for the task completion dialog.

6. Click on the “Okay” button to receive your reward.
